Electric Guitar
As a rule I recommend that where possible everyone who want's to learn the guitar starts off on an acoustic. However, not everyone has an acoustic guitar when they start playing. I have put the following sessions together with that in mind. The electric guitar is a wonderful and adaptable instrument that can be used in thousands of ways to create rich and diverse music. Although it shares techniques and aspects of the acoustic guitar. It also differs widely and there are a number of sounds and playing techniques that can only be used on an electric guitar. A number of music styles would not exist if it wasn't for the electric guitar. I.e, Rock, Metal, Punk, Post Punk, Goth, Rock n' Roll, Pop, Electric Blues, Reggae, Funk, Experimental etc.
Beginners
In these sessions I work with the special and unique needs of every student and teach them what they want to learn and guide them through their very personal journey into learning how to play the guitar. As a general rule we start with basic chords, scales and guitar techniques to improve and add to each person's abilities. We then move onto learning simple popular songs that are in keeping and appropriate to the student's musical leanings.
One to One tuition = £15 per hour.
Group Classes = £ 10 per hour per student.

Improvers
In these sessions we build on the students previous learning and add to their growing knowledge and skill base. Again the focus is on what YOU want to learn and what kind of guitarist YOU want to be. We move towards learning more complex songs and musical pieces and the student is again in control of their direction and learning.
