Frequently Asked Questions and Additional Info
1. Where will the lessons be? All guitar tuition sessions are held at my home studio in Hucknall Nottinghamshire UK unless prior arranged to be at a venue of your choice. Full travel costs to be refunded at the session.
2. Do I have to have my own guitar? Students are recommended to bring their own guitars. For students who don't have their own guitar. Guitars can be supplied per session with prior arrangement with an additional hire fee of £5 per instrument per session. If there is string breakage, a fee of £2 per string will be payable at the session. In the unlikely advent of accidental damage. All damages MUST be paid for by the student concerned.
3. Do I have to bring my own amp? No, if student requires the use of an amplifier, please notify tutor in advance. Use of guitar amplifiers at my studio is FREE. However in the unlikely advent of accidental damage. All damages MUST be paid for by the student concerned.
4. How long will it take me to learn? That really depends on you as a person. The more work you put into it, the quicker you will learn. As a rule of thumb, you could be playing simple songs within a few months. You could be good enough to play live within a year or so.
5. Will it hurt my hand and fingers? The answer is yes at first. But as you play more, your fingers harden and you hands get stronger.
6. How long are lessons? Most sessions are 60 mins long, but some of the workshops and master classes can be longer. See master class tab.
7. How much are the classes? Standard guitar lessons are: One to One= £15 per hour, group sessions= £10 per hour. Master classes prices can vary. See master class tab.
8. Could you help me in forming a band or helping my band? Yes I can, please see the Consultancy tab and pages
9. Could you record me playing or my band/musical partners in your studio? Yes,please see the Recording And Audio tab above.
10. Have you experience in working with people who have physical or learning difficulties? Yes I have had a vast amount of experience working with people who have physical and learning difficulties and I am more than happy to work with any student who want's to learn to play the guitar. I will need to have a meeting with the students and parent's or guardians where we discuss what we can do and who we can do it, but a learning plan for most potential students is possible. (I myself am diagnosed as dyslexic with dyscalcula and cross lateral disfunctionism)
11. What are the methods of payment? Generally cash on the day of the lesson. But with some specialist lessons, master classes and consultancy sessions I may require advance payment or a booking deposit.
